The Gay Left are a Bunch of Uncle Toms

Even though I’ve seen this sort of thing many times before, it continues to amaze me.  Gay Patriot linked to this article in the gay magazine “The Advocate.”  I am not reading the whole thing, because the excerpt in the post I linked to is difficult to read already.  The level of utter stupidity that some of these people exhibit is simply baffling.

The author of that article makes an assumption that renders the whole thing invalid.  That is, that all gay conservatives agree with him that there are things such as “equal rights” or believe in some sort of spirituality (and, if they do, that it is identical to his spirituality) is not only incorrect, but completely stupid on its face.

I am a gay conservative, and I do not believe in “equal rights,” particularly in the definition he uses.  In fact, I absolutely loathe that concept.  The only rights that exist are natural, individual rights.  The collectivism of the left would violate my rights to a much, much larger extent than not having gay marriage recognized.  This isn’t simply about “voting for [one's] bank account.”  This is about as close as I will get to any sort of spirituality, so this is on a much deeper level than that.  And even if you accept the premise that gay marriage is a ” human right,” the left is still, on balance, far worse at violating human rights.  For example, they violate the right to free speech (for example, with laws against “hate speech”), religious expression (for example, with mandates that Catholic employers provide contraception to their employees (whether directly or not)), freedom to do business (for example, by telling employers when they can and cannot fire their employees), and property rights (for example, with excessive taxation).

He aslo says something else that is completely stupid on its face:

Do gay Republicans who voted for a party that says marriage is only between a man and woman believe they themselves are not worthy of love?

I don’t plan on ever getting married, but I would still like to find a man that I will fall in love with.  Why I would need to get married to fall in love is absolutely beyond me.

Then there is this other stupid thing:

And what would gay Republicans, who voted for Mitt Romney’s version of America, do when their beloved jobs that gave them their beloved money were taken away from them because they were gay?

I’m sure not every gay conservative agrees with me on this, but I don’t think the government has any right to interfere in the operation businesses by telling them when they can’t fire someone.  I listed this above as a human rights violation, which I believe it is.  Furthermore, a gay employee could be fired for incompetence and claim to be fired due to their sexual orientation, and some judges might be dumb enough to believe them and punish the employer even though they didn’t violate the ridiculous law.

In summary, I am an individual far before I am a gay person.  And, whether this moron realizes it or not, he is also an individual.  By supporting and voting for the left, he is an “Uncle Tom” that “gives his time, money and voices to a political group that aids in oppression of individuals.”

One Response to The Gay Left are a Bunch of Uncle Toms

But of course, anyone that’s gay *must* by default, subscribe to left-wing politics. Nevermind if a gay individual happens to harbour views that are for encouraging people to be more responsible and independent, nevermind that they have a rational basis to identify with a certain political/philosophical position, nevermind that such people don’t use something biologically inherent as their sexuality – something they can’t control – to base their entire life philosophy on.
