Obama, Epitome of How America Has Lost its Way

During George W. Bush’s presidency, he was regularly maligned and ridiculed here in Canada.  He was an example of the USA’s backwards, right-wing idiocy.  During Barack Obama’s presidential campaign, he (Obama) was revered here.  Some of my young Facebook friends “Obamatized” photos of themselves and used it as a profile picture to show him support.  My peers were impressed with how “smart” he was and with the “big words” he used in his speeches.  Even back then, when I was still in high school, I was supporter of McCain and Palin (mostly Palin), and I felt like the only one in Canada.  I couldn’t believe how people seemed to love Obama; not for his policies, but for some other reason (perhaps his skin colour, his charisma, the cult of personality his campaign had built up, or simply the fact that he wasn’t “backwards”).

I have never really understood patriotism.  Not because I’m ashamed of “atrocities” my country’s government has committed in the past (which even the government of Canada has done), but just because I could never figure out why I should feel proud of my country just for being born here.  I have since realized why Americans are so patriotic compared to citizens of other countries, as I have developed a deep respect for the country to my south myself.  And that respect is based upon the USA’s constitution, history, and role in the world.  It has truly demonstrated the superiority of classical liberal values; transforming from some lowly colonies into the primary global power.  And I hope, some day, my own country will aspire to be more like its only land neighbor once was.  I am happy that my country is at least going in the right direction, having given “right-wing extremist” Stephen Harper and his Conservative Party a majority government.  However, the United States has lost its way.  This started (from what I can tell) in the 1930′s, when Franklin Delano Roosevelt expanded the government’s power and subsequently elongated the depression.  The most over-rated president in American history (in my opinion) lives on through his legacy of socialism, which is now causing ruin.  If the United States wants to return to its superiority, it best remove all traces of socialism from its government.  And it must remove the kamikaze at its helm.

That Obama is popular in Canada and Europe should be cause for alarm.  When the president is popular in socialist countries, among socialists, it is an indication that something is wrong.  The United States shouldn’t care what other countries think of it.

Obama is the antithesis of American values.  He apologizes for his country’s often necessary and/or wise actions and goes out of his way to fruitlessly try to appease obstinate barbarians who will kill and pillage regardless.

President Obama has sent a letter to Afghanistan counterpart Hamid Karzai apologizing for a recent incident of Quran burning at a U.S. airbase there.

“I wish to express my deep regret for the reported incident,” Obama wrote in the letter delivered to Karzai today, and released by the Afghanistan government. “I extend to you and the Afghan people my sincere apologies.”

“The error was inadvertent,” the letter added. “I assure you that we will take the appropriate steps to avoid any recurrence, to include holding accountable those responsible.”

The burning incident triggered anti-U.S. riots that have killed at least 14 people, including two American soldiers. Violence continued on Thursday.

This apology inspired a young American to offer her own apology to Karzai (hat tip Gateway Pundit).

There is really nothing I can add.

Yes to everything you are posting here. You might go a little further to Wilson who started the socialist ball rolling.
It is intersting to see Socialists try imploy a foreign policy when they have not developed one. (They use this tactic in many areas in order to never have to answer for their behavior.) They put themselves in a difficult position because they spend so much time when out of power critizing every move any other administration makes… which leaves them no where to go when “it’s their turn”. (Iran will be another example of this. It wasn’t that long ago that Bush was impuned for there not being any WMD’s in Iraq even though at least 3 different intelligence services plus Saddam himself to us there was. We’ll see how they handle this.)

CR, you were in high school during the ’08 presidential campaign?! You gotta be kidding me! Your opinions are so mature and professionally stated that I thought you were at least in your 30′s. Keep up the good work. Our side needs more young people like you!
